Summer is here, and we – Lill-Karin and Espen – warmly welcome you to our fourth season at Daniels Hus in Skarsvåg. It’s a pleasure to once again be able to open the doors and invite you into our little house, where we share food, stories and warm encounters with guests from all over the world – and neighbors from around the corner.

We’re based in the world’s northernmost fishing village, and for us Daniel’s House is about more than just food. It’s about creating a place where you can drop your shoulders, smell the kitchen and hear the silence outside the windows – interrupted only by laughter, piano and maybe the sound of the sea.

Real food from real places

This year, as in previous years, our menu is based on local produce and northern Norwegian traditions. We make the food from scratch with love and respect for the ingredients – be it fish we’ve caught from local boats, berries we’ve picked ourselves, or herbs from the soil in the midnight sun.

The menu includes fish cake with home-baked country bread, hot and hearty fin steak, and perhaps something sweet with your coffee. Everything is prepared in our open kitchen, and many guests find it pleasant to chat while the food is being prepared. We love to share both stories and recipes – so feel free to ask!

A warm and vibrant atmosphere

Daniel’s House is small. Two tables, open kitchen, piano and fireplace. And that’s exactly what we want: a warm atmosphere where you can feel at home, whether you come alone, with friends or as part of a journey through the Arctic landscape.

We have no waiters and no hidden menu – but we do have space and time. We offer good food in good company, and if the mood is right, the piano may play a few notes for dessert.

Experiences in the local area

Once you’re here in Skarsvåg, we recommend spending some time exploring Magerøya. Here you’ll find midnight sun, sea, mountains and tranquillity – all on one island. A short drive takes you to the North Cape, where you can stand on the edge of the mainland and look out over a never-ending sea.

You can also take walks in the local area, go fishing, visit small museums and local galleries, or just enjoy the special atmosphere that exists here in the north. For many, a visit to Magerøya is a memory of a lifetime – and we hope Daniel’s House can be part of that memory.

Practical info and table reservations

We are open during the summer season, and since we have few seats, we recommend reserving a table in advance. You can find updated information and contact form on our website: www.danielshus.no

Thank you to everyone who has visited us over the past three summers – and welcome to new and old guests this year. We look forward to seeing you!

With warm greetings,
Lill-Karin and Espen
